Morning Worship
Matthew 6:25-34 (Feb. 5, 2012/Marvel)
In this passage, Jesus tells us that we must be prepared for the anxieties of life. But he grounds his commands on how to prepare on three truths about God. God created life, God preserves life, and God is righteous.
Matthew 7:21-23 (Jan. 29, 2012/Marvel)
As we continue through the Lord's Prayer, we approach a very difficult but important petition to God: Thy will be done. Praying for God's will to be done involves both rejection and acceptance. But these are done because of a joy and delight that is set before us.
Matthew 16:18 (Jan. 22, 2012/Marvel)
Jesus teaches us to pray for God's kingdom to come. What is the kingdom of come? Has it already come or is it yet to come? In this sermon, Pastor Jud addresses these questions and relates them to our life of prayer.
Matthew 5:13-16 (Jan. 15, 2012/Marvel)
Continuing our series through the Lord's Prayer, we approach our first request, "Hallowed be thy name." In this sermon, we look at this petition as our first need, our greatest need, and our greatest delight.
Matthew 7:7-11 (Jan. 8, 2012/Marvel)
As we start a new sermon series on the Lord's Prayer, we begin with Jesus' teaching on addressing God as our Father in heaven. What does it mean that God is both our Father and our Father in heaven? Pastor Jud addresses this question in this sermon.
Joshua 1:1-9 (Jan. 1, 2012/Marvel)
_ Using the words God spoke to Joshua before he led the people
into the Promised Land, Pastor Steve leads us in examining three keys as we go
into the new year. By making these keys our “new year’s resolutions,” we can
step boldly and faithfully into whatever the future holds for us.
Hebrews 10:5-10 (Dec. 25, 2011/Marvel)
While we often hear stories about what others were thinking during that first Christmas, do we have any idea what the Son of God was thinking when He became man? In this Christmas sermon, Pastor Jud explores how the Son of God knew the plan of Christmas, submitted willingly to the plan, and delighted to submit to the will of God.
Isaiah 40:1-5 (Dec. 18, 2011/Simon)
_ Pastor Steve concludes our Advent series by looking at what
it means to say that Jesus is Lord. He provides us with a theological answer
(“God with skin on”) and a personal answer (“our Leader in life”). For Jesus to
truly be our Lord, we need to affirm both answers.
2 Samuel 7:1-17 (Dec. 11, 2011/Marvel)
Jesus is not only our prophet and priest, he is also our king. Because we are a part of God's household, Jesus as king means that we are protected, we will grow, and we can trust that He is faithful.
Gen. 14:17-20 (Dec. 4, 2011/Marvel)
Though Jesus shows us the way in this darkened world as the true prophet, we also need someone to pave our way. There is clutter between us and God. We need to get through it in order to reach the presence of God. Jesus as the true priest paves our way to God by taking the clutter upon his own shoulders.
Deut. 18:15-18 (Nov. 27, 2011/Marvel)
As we begin the advent season, we turn to the Old Testament for clues about the identity of Jesus. We discover that Jesus fulfills the office of prophet, the mouth of God. As prophet, Jesus shows us the way in this darkened world.
Col. 4:7-18 (Nov. 20, 2011/Marvel)
Rather than a boring end to a great letter, this ending is full of history. Paul's fellowship with these men in ministry is an example of forgiveness and reconciliation.
| Evening Worship
Eph. 6:18-20 (Feb. 5, 2012/Marvel)
This was a service of prayer as the congregation walked through the building and prayed for the church leaders. However, this service also included a few words from Pastor Jud about the Super Bowl and about praying for our leaders.
2 Tim. 3:16 (Jan. 22, 2012/Marvel)
What is the role of Scripture in the lives of Christians? How does God delegate his responsibility? In this sermon we explore how God delegates his lordship through the written Word.
2 Tim. 3:16 (Jan. 15, 2012/Marvel)
How should Christians understand the Scriptures? In this sermon, we explore Paul's statement in 2 Tim. 3 about the inspiration of the Scriptures. What does it mean that the Scriptures are inspired of God?
November to December 2011
As we moved back to the sanctuary in December of 2011 for our PM services, we will again begin to record our PM services starting in January 2012.
July to October 2011Because of the lack of air conditioning in the sanctuary, we moved our evening worship services in the summer to our activities building, and we continued them through the fall. However, we don't have the equipment yet to record those services. If you are really curious to hear the PM services, you may join us in the activities building, which is right behind the church!
